So I went to see my wife this week, like every week. I got a chance to talk to a couple that was there to see their daughter for the first time. She has been there a week. They were asking how things worked, how long lines took. Then, they asked how long I had been coming?

As the words where coming out of my mouth (“Over a year.”) I was amazed at how long it had been! 16 months have gone by, as well as over 45,000 miles, 1,400 gallons of gas on average, countless Dr Peppers, at least 20 Monsters, and 1 cup of coffee (I don't drink coffee), 2 quarts of oil, 1 motorcycle tire, 1 car tire, 6 pairs of sun glasses (most lost along the highway except 1 pair I dropped in the toilet as it was flushing).Wow!!Has it been that much? Nuts!

And yet, so worth it.The time I get with my wife means so much to me. To hear what God is doing in her life, and those around her. As I sit listening to my wife telling me how this week God has laid it on someone’s heart to start the same Bible study she is going to start this week in another dorm (that makes 5 groups of inmate led Bible study). How women are not getting out of work to go, but are choosing to use there free time to study God’s Word.

As I saw the joy in my wife's eyes at what God was doing there, the verse in James 1 was laid on my heart, Consider It PURE JOY my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds. There is pure Joy in what the Lord is doing for her and me. God is good!!!

So in closing I would say be filled with the joy of the Lord because there is nothing like it!It has the power to reach into the darkest places and bring Light, Hope, and most important, joy; for our savior Loves us!
